Born from a mixture of two colours widely used in contrast, blue and yellow-green is one colour that manages to evoke a sense of calm in humans. For it is the colour of Mother Nature, our home, our nest, where we come from, where we find the energy to live. And hence the colour green represents balance and harmony.
Popular Culture

The whole idea of the Go Green slogan and the green movement is our hope of going back to the purer, healthier life and environment that we once thrived in. While this does not necessarily mean the movement is anti-progress or science; it is rather finding better ways of progress and technology that enables us to live in harmony with all that is green.
The use cases for the green in our day to day life are plenty and often very obvious. For example, doctors use green to introduce calmness in the environment for patients to be less anxious while visiting, and this is the same reason news channels or live tv shows use a green room where a person can relax immediately before going on air.
A somewhat debated notion is money or currency being green, which is the reason green is also associated with greed.
On a lighter note, the green screen used in movies is because green is the only colour directly opposite of any possible human skin or hair colour - making it easy for fx to differentiate between backgrounds and subjects. The music streaming company Spotify chose green simply because no one was using the colour in the industry back then and they wanted to stand out. Through colour or character, they did manage to do that. And so did Starbucks - probably the most relatable and spotted green logo out there.
Positive Traits of Green
Like we mentioned earlier, green invokes a sense of calm as it is the colour of Nature. So naturally, the colour also gives the beholder a feeling of security, nurturing and sympathy.
Similar to some of the previous colours in this series, green is also the colour of hope and optimism. Often used in any place that is a retreat - green refreshes the viewer almost immediately.
Negative Traits of Green
Used incorrectly, green can indicate stagnation and can make something be perceived as bland. The phrase Green with envy is very common and hence we know green is the colour of jealousy too. And because it is the colour of currency/money for most of the world, an excess of green tends to symbolise greed.
Here are our favourite celebrities that have carried green like a boss

What Green says about you
If you are inclined towards the colour green, you have a tendency to seek security in life, be it finance or relationships. How they are viewed by others is very important and seeking symbols of security and status is their way of doing it. People who tend to like green more also tend to be more inclined towards turning vegan at some point in their lives (wink wink).
Well, apparently people who dislike colours that most people like, automatically fall in the spectrum of introversion or social aloofness. Same is the story with green. People who dislike green tend to go against the grain.
That’s pretty much it about green. We had super fun exploring what the colour means and how it is used or could be misused. Nevertheless, keep coming back to read more about colours, shades, skin and all things women, and more.
