When the blue skies meet the blue sea, all is blue for a while. Blue is the colour that can never lie, it carries the ability to soothe your soul even amidst turmoil, and it is often associated with depth, stability and versatility. Blue can be seen as elegant, rich, sophisticated, intelligent, and old-fashioned whereas royal blue can represent superiority.


They say blue is the colour for boys and pink is for girls, but the colour does not differentiate between genders. In fact you can relate it rather well with womanhood, given to its calming, creative and trusting nature.


The seventh incarnation of Devi is Kaalratri, the destructive form of the Goddess, popularly called Kali. Her powerful energy is embodied in the color blue.

Royal blue gets its Royalty from the British Throne. A dress making competition was conducted for Queen Charlotte and the dress chosen was in blue, hence for her highness the colour is known as Royal Blue. Blue depicts serenity, calmness, intelligence and royalty.


We as Indians bleed blue, our Indian cricket team crushes the opponent and we love them as they stand high and stable in blue and even when they face defeat, we stand with our team and show loyalty, just what the colour asks for.


The blue genre of music is known for its expression of injustice, longing for lost love and a better life. One of our favourite boy bands ‘Blue’ introduced in the 2000’s, used the blue emotion in their songs along with pop music and won our hearts.





Famous movies like Cameron’s Avatar, DC’s Aquaman and Savariya in Bollywood used this colour to portray feelings like distinctiveness, vastness and depth, respectively.




There was a controversial dress which gained popularity in the UK, which for some was blue in colour white others saw it as white or gold, the reason behind this illusion was our perception, the lighting, our emotions have a direct impact on the way we perceive objects and hence people viewed the dress in different colours.


Top class companies and banks use this colour as it conveys trustworthiness, reliability and honesty, which on a very subtle level influences the human mind.

Blue is soothing in nature, it lowers the metabolism; it cools the body and maintains balance and self expression. It brings peace and tranquility with order, intelligence, loyalty, confidence and reflects trust. It is a cool colour and it plays its role rather well, it is extremely soothing when we look at the deep blue sea, or the blue skies, our royal bird- Peacock or even a kingfisher.

Blue is not just a merry song it is sometimes the unsung melancholy of a dispirited soul. It is used to show sadness and isolation, indeed blue is cooling but when it gets too cold it numbs the body and soul. Blue colour also symbolizes venom, it is said that Lord Shiva tuned blue after drinking venom to save the world.

Blue is the way to wear colour clothing without appearing colourful. It is mostly used in conservative clothing, in uniforms, blazers and denims. Blue shines bright on light skin tones and makes the person look fresh and royal. Blue is one colour which will never go out of fashion, take for example blue jeans, they work well with everything at any time of the year.

Having a personality color blue means you are conservative, reliable and trustworthy, you have a deep need for peace and harmony in life and a need to be trusted, you may not show it openly. However you have the tendency to become overemotional or turn cold to others.
